  • What are you studying?

    Interior Architecture

  • Why did you choose to study in Brisbane?

I find Brisbane to be a more friendly city than Sydney or Melbourne. QUT offered the courses I wanted to do, plus had the added bonus of being only an hour from my home town so I can go visit my family on weekends.

  • What is your favourite thing about being a student?

Lots of student discounts, plus this is the time of my life that I get to make the best memories. Uni clubs and societies have made me lots of new friends and we’ve had some great nights together.

  • What is your favourite thing to do when you are not studying?

Explore new parts of Brisbane. I’ve lived here for 2 years and every time we go for an adventure we find something we’ve never seen before.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Finished my Masters, working in an architecture firm or even better, running my own.

  • Why did you decide to become a Resident Leader (RL)?

I decided to become an RL because I have a passion for helping others. Being an RL has so many facets, but one of the most important parts of the role is looking after the residents, be it emotionally (by organising events to improve moral or talking about problems they may have) or physically (by providing First Aid when needed).

  • What is your favourite thing about being a Resident Leader (RL)?

I love organising creative events and seeing everyone’s talents, plus decorating for different holidays and occasions.

  • What is your favourite thing about Iglu?

I love the atmosphere here. Iglu Kelvin Grove has a great community spirit and all the residents are great at participating. The new rivalry between the East and West towers has shown how much creativity and passion the residents have.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

Uni is one of the best times of your life. Work hard on your studies, but make sure you take some time off to experience being young.
