  • What are you studying?

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film Screen and New Media)

  • Why did you choose to study in Australia?

I decided to study in Australia because of its high-quality education and because is a multicultural country. Additionally, Australia has a lot of opportunities as well as benefits for international students.

  • Why did you choose to study in Brisbane?

I chose to study in Brisbane because is a relaxing city, the weather is amazing (particularly I love hot weather) and it has lots of aesthetics landscapes (beautiful places). In addition, my decision was influenced also because of the University (QUT)

  • What’s your favourite thing about being a student?

Most students do not like being students 😛 but I’ve always enjoyed being associated with an educational set up/ environment, may be because of the deep involvement of the women around me (my mama and nani) with the education sector. No matter what marks I got, I have all enjoyed the process of gaining knowledge on subjects I was passionate about. Moreover, I just wasn’t limited to studies during my school and university…Besides studies, I was deeply involved in art and craft as a child. I was interested to learn Indian classical dance forms as I grew up so I learnt Bharatnatyam for 4 years. Being very fond of the stage during my high school I always took part in elocutions, moots and debates, I was also chosen as the school house caption in my 11th grade/year because of my leadership skills.

  • What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not studying?

I love to work out and go for a run (I love the view) and I like to hang out with my friends and meet new people.

  • What’s your favourite thing about Iglu?

Iglu for me is the best student accommodation. It is hard just to choose one thing because all the amazing things that Iglu has make them a great place to stay while you are studying. However, if I have to choose just one I will say that Iglu makes you feel as if you were at home! The apartments are really comfortable, the facilities like the common areas, the gym, the study rooms are really nice and convenient, the events, etc, but more importantly, the staff of Iglu are really amazing people with a good service quality and they make you feel as a part of a family!

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see my self in 5 years as a filmmaker working in entertainment and media industry in Australia.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

Remember to see the bright side of the things and whatever you are doing do it with passion and make it worth it.
