About Monash University
As the largest university in Australia and a founding member of the prestigious Group of Eight, Monash University has become a model of growth and opportunity. What began back in 1958 as a specialist tech university with a hard focus on science, quickly evolved into a broader offering of arts, economics, engineering, law, politics and medicine. That strong focus on research has remained, but a culture of creativity and innovation has sprung up around. Today, with four campuses located in Victoria as well as in Malaysia, China and India, Monash Uni is one that truly offers an international approach to education. Named after the famous Australian engineer Sir John Monash, a significant contributor to all aspects of Australian life from military through to business, so too the university is dedicated to progressing change and making a difference. The thirst for knowledge, as embedded in the motto Ancora Imparo – still learning – continues to inform every aspect of university life and the doors are wide open to all those that are prepared to work hard and be part of that ethos. Consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in the world Monash University is about discovery, challenge and opportunity. And most importantly, it exists to help you apply your knowledge to real world situations.
THE FACILITIES
Known for quality of education and exceptional facilities, Monash staff consistently strive to arm students with a sense of purpose combined with a global outlook that supersedes any individual gain. With a large number of courses available across numerous disciplines, Monash also has agreements in place with over 115 universities worldwide that facilitates numerous exchange opportunities as well as on the ground immersive study environments.
Versatility and flexibility are key to the student-centred Monash approach. As the only Group of Eight University with a triple crown international business accreditation within the Faculty of Business and Economics, there is always a keen eye placed on industry developments and how learnings can be translated back into the classroom. The Australian campuses range in size from the largest and original situated at Clayton (with eight faculties represented), through to Caulfield, Peninsula (specialising in Nursing, OT and Physio) and Parkville, based in the heart of the health and bio medical precinct.
TRANSPORT AND ACCESS
With four campus options as well as flexible learning opportunities, Monash has all bases covered. Train access to Caulfield is just 10 minutes from South Yarra, and Parkville is located a super convenient 3km from Melbourne CBD – a perfect opportunity to walk or cycle, and enjoy the fresh air. The Clayton campus is just 1 hour by train from Melbourne CBD and an easy 40 minutes from South Yarra. Parking is available under a permit arrangement, and car-shares are strongly encouraged.
