  • Hi Zoe! What are you studying?

    Medical Science

  • Why did you choose to study in Sydney?

My mum went to UNSW for bachelors degree and she really liked it and we have a few family friends who are living in Sydney so i wasn’t alone in a new city.

  • Why did you choose to live at Iglu?

I wanted to find an accommodation that it is an ensuite with private kitchen. Originally I wanted to stay at uni accommodation but it was just extremely outdated and reviews weren’t great other than the location. I searched up student accommodation in Sydney and found Iglu! I fell in love immediately with the interior design and the simplicity of it all. It also wasn’t hard to be in contact with the Iglu team to reserve a room and they were super friendly to answer some questions. Also the greenery! I love the courtyard at my Iglu it makes studying feel so serene.

  • What is your favourite thing about being a student?

My favourite thing about being a student is the new environment and being able to adapt to various situations without much guidance vs being told things at high school. It’s all a learning curve and you start to understand the rhythm of university life.

  • What is your favourite thing to do when you are not studying?

I love going to weekend markets and have some food! I love going to the beach as well

  • Are you a resident leader?

    Yes

  • What’s your favourite thing about being a Resident Leader (RL)?

Helping residents to their needs and getting to know different residents through events, as well as building connections with people at the office.

  • What’s your go-to spot for studying or relaxing at Iglu?

I love having a coffee or lunch outside at the terrace or the courtyard.

  • Describe your favourite thing about Iglu?

I love the design and comfort of living in Iglu. The comfort of Iglu comes from being in events and building connection with the people at front desk or just my neighbours:)

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully into the pharmacy or healthcare pathway, maybe doing research and having an apartment of my own.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

Come to events! It’s the best way to build relationships to other people and remember that other people are experiencing similar things as you! They’re also in uni and might be their first time in Australia! You’ll never know until you initiate the conversation!
