  • What are you studying?

    Audio Engineering / Sound Production

  • Why did you choose to study in Australia?

I was studying English at a language school. Australia was one of my travel goals for so long now, especially Sydney. The land full of Kangaroos and Koalas. I have to admit though, I do not like Koalas. I cannot tell why, but I do not like them. When I was younger, I had the picture in my mind that Kangaroos must be great boxers, and that one day I wanted to fight a Kangaroo. Weird I know, but I was like 6. I think we all had weird dreams when we were 6.

  • Why did you choose to study in Sydney?

I am a man full of childhood dreams, I guess. Sydney was featured in the Disney movie ‘Nemo’, and because I was young, I really wanted to visit the city in which the main character ‘Nemo’ was captured in. Might be a little childish but I don’t really mind that. It brought me here, to new adventures, lifestyles, friends, languages, cultures and so on.

  • What is your favourite thing about being a student?

I love studying in general. I’ll be honest, I’m so scared of the thought that I’ll have to start a stable carrier soon. I did not know what to do in the past and I still don’t know what I want to do in the future. I mean, studying gives me a sense of freedom and I know what I will do tomorrow, studying obviously, because I want to pass my exams.

  • What is your favourite thing to do when you are not studying?

I love to listen to music. Mostly calm music without any big changes in volume, chords and so on. Or when I want something different, I listen to scary stories on YouTube. I don’t know why but it helps me study and stay calm and focused in general.

  • What is your favourite thing about Iglu?

Iglu is such an amazing place. You feel that people actually care about and you can do so many things here. I have had the pleasure of meeting amazing people from different countries and cultures. You don’t even need to like socialising, you can be an introvert and spend most of your time in your room and still you are as important and valued as everyone else.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I don’t even know where I see myself tomorrow. Probably studying in my room with a cup of tea and scary stories. My life changes every day right now, so I cannot tell what I will be doing in 5 years. Hopefully I’ll have started my life in Canada, the country I plan to move to in a few years.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

Be yourself. If you don’t like socialising, you don’t have to. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. Everyone is different and enjoys themselves in different ways. If you love events, join them. You will have a fun time, guaranteed. Every day is a new adventure, and you are the one who is taking the next step.
