I chose to study in Sydney because it is such a vibrant, exciting and multicultural city. Coming from a regional town, Sydney offers a lot more opportunities for me both academically and personally. Sydney also has a lot to cute cafes and restaurants which I love trying out after Uni!!

  • Why did you choose to live at Iglu?

I chose to live at Iglu because it is safe, modern, welcoming and very close to my university. Moving into student accommodation can feel overwhelming at first, but Iglu made it much easier because everything is convenient and there is always support available. It also has a strong community feel, which is especially important when you are living away from home and adjusting to a new city.

  • What is your favourite thing to do when you are not studying?

When I am not studying, I enjoy spending time with friends, exploring Syndey, going to the beach and trying out new cafes. I also love baking so will usually make a sweet treat to enjoy throughout the stressful Uni week.

The regional scholarship helped relieve some of the financial stress that comes with moving from home to a new city. It allowed me to have a comfortable move and focus less on my finances and more on studying, making friends and living life.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I see myself having completed my studies and working in my field, preferably in Europe, when I can continue helping people and making a positive difference.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

Attend as many events as you can!! Whether it be a crafting or baking event or a social dinner night, step out of your comfort zone and try something new! The events are the best way to connect with other residents and make new friends.
