How will you see in 2014?

With so much going on for Sydney’s end-of-year celebrations, it can be hard to tell which events are all party and which are all hype. Avoid disappointment with Iglu’s guide to New Year’s Eve!

Fireworks Display

Join over one million people and bring in the New Year with Sydney’s world famous fireworks display. The City of Sydney has an awesome website that shows you all the different vantage points across town, so you and your friends can get planning for the perfect night.

There’s great tips on how you can get into town, some cool things to bring with, and more. And some locations have restrictions on alcohol, so before you go busting out that bottle of bubbly, make sure you pick the right spot!

Shore Thing

If fireworks aren’t your thing, then why not hit up Shore Thing instead? Held on the shores of one of Sydney’s most famous locations, Bondi Beach, acts include locals What So Not(half Flume, half DJ Emoh), Jack BeatsAlvin Risk and Skrillex. Check out the footage from last year on YouTube and try to resist buying a ticket. We dare you.

Field Day

We all know there’s only one true way to get over the night before: keep on partying! The good folks over at Fuzzy are prescribing their usual post-celebration cure with Field Day. Held in Sydney’s Domain on the 1st of January, this year’s gig is bringing together the likes of FlumeLondon GrammarA$AP RockyThe WombatsHermitudeFlight FacilitiesFlux Pavilion, and a bunch more. You can grab tickets from the website. And you should. Right now. Because it’s going to sell out before you can say “Happy New Year.”
